What do you want to find out from patents?
You get the filing trend, the organisations present, and the subjects covered in the documents.
What you are looking for
The patents are fetched then analysed; you follow the progress and the report opens at the end.
Cost: 1 search · 3 left. No charge if the analysis fails.
What this search covers
The document count appears once the scope has been computed.
This calculation is free and uses no search.
The number finally analysed may be lower: duplicates are removed, off-topic documents are discarded, and one analysis covers at most 1,000 documents — whatever your plan.

Classifications
No classification is offered until the scope has been computed.
Write the query yourself. It is run exactly as written and replaces the terms above. Without a “pa=” clause it covers titles, abstracts and classifications; with one, it also filters by applicant.
Patents come from a single source, EPO OPS. Coverage of Chinese patents filed outside the PCT is partial with this source.
Sources and limits
Patents come from EPO OPS, and from it alone. A measurement on 2026-08-21 over a shared window found about 45% more Chinese publications in a second source, now disconnected: the gap is real and its order of magnitude is known.
An analysis interrupted abruptly — a server stop — may hold the search until the next check, at most six hours, after which it is returned to you.
